Of Shoes and Ships and Fandoms
Mar. 5th, 2011 07:28 pmSo, last weekend I finally watched Inception and then, far more exciting, I finally allowed myself to start reading Inception fic! (Eames/Arthur, natch)
Anyways, so that's been fun. New fandoms are like nothing else, especially when there's so much to explore. Like cracking the spine on a new novel, except it's the first in a series, but a series that explores a multitude of genres and possibilities. Anyways, it's fun. And Eames and Arthur are really interesting--not like the characters in some of the other fandoms of my heart.
I've been SO DEEPLY in love with SherlockBBC that I've been hesitant to make the jump. But I've started rereading all of my bookmarks and being a little overly obsessive, so I think it's a good time to switch it up. And no doubt I'll appreciate Sherlock even more when we are reunited.
The other thing I find myself doing when I start exploring a new fandom is becoming nostalgic about all of the old ones. So in the spirit of keeping the old while making new, here are two recs. One for the fandom of my heart (forever and always!) and one for the show that got my into a fandom and reading fanfic in the first place (the one where you should always take backup).

Veronica Mars fic where Veronica and Logan are a little older and wiser and still utterly themselves. This is how things must go for them; I believe it with all my heart.
